Riggit Galloway Cattle Society Summer Meeting and Summer Jamboree 2022
Itinerary for 2022 RGCS Summer Jamboree.
Tuesday 2nd August
Several members will be meeting at The Belted Galloway Cattle Society’s hog roast and ceilidh- which is being organised as part of their centennial celebrations. The venue is at Wigtown showground (Bladnoch, Newton Stewart DG8 9AB)
The ceilidh is free, kindly sponsored by the Scottish BELTED GALLOWAY Club, while the Hog Roast will be £10 (vegetarian option available).

Wednesday 3rd August
Wigtown Show
A number of RGCS folk will be attending the Wigton show, where there are both Riggit and White Galloway classes, as well as the extensive Belted Galloway show. We look forward to seeing you ringside

Thursday 4th August
Meeting for lunch (12.00 for 12.30) at The Oak Tree Inn, Balmaha, Loch Lomond, G63 0JQ (NB, no morning events are formally planned due to travel times. Doubtless some of us will be exploring the Loch side before lunch)
Lunch will be followed by a herd visit to The Lomond Belted and Black Galloway cattle, at Blairvockie, Drymen, courtesy of Duncan Maxwell.
The visit will conclude with light refreshments at Blairvockie.
Evening meal and social at The Lion & Unicorn Hotel Thornhill, FK8 3PJ
7.00 for 7.30pm
Friday 5th August
Summer meeting and herd visit, at Cardona, Doune, Stirlingshire, FK16 6AX, at the kind invitation of Robbie Galloway. A full day is planned, with several different groups of cattle to be seen, and refreshments provided. Arrive 9.30 for 10.00am Closing late afternoon/early evening with a BBQ at Cardona

Sunday 7th August
The BGCS are organising a herd visit to the historic and famous Mochrum Belted herd. There attendees will see the herd, do some stock judging and see a demonstration of beef cuts on a live animal. Refreshments and a BBQ kindly provided by Mochrum Estates, and the Society. Arrive from 1.00pm at The Old Place of Mochrum, Port William, DG8 9
